TORONTO, ON – April 7, 2011 – Out with the old and in with the newly re-purposed, brick walled, wood floored, floor to ceiling windowed, real funky office in the 110 year old Carpet Factory in Liberty Village. EDge has moved to greener (actually browner!) pastures at our new Liberty Village location.
Located in the King and Dufferin area, Liberty Village is a technological hot bed, boasting over 400 Internet, media and marketing companies. The converted Carpet Factory, built at the turn of the 20th century, serves as a centre of creativity for these modern businesses. In addition to great office space, the Village is home to many condos and town houses, over 30 restaurants, a very happening Irish pub and several yoga spots, among other things.
It’s a great environment to come up with all sorts of innovative ideas for the SchoolFinder Group of websites and ezRecruit™. We are looking forward to getting our creative juices flowing in regular brainstorming sessions in this energized surrounding.
As part of the move, we brought the data centre with us. From atop our perch on the fifth floor in the Carpet Factory we can see our new data centre in Bean Field’s brand new facility on Fraser Ave.
Our new Internet pipeline has grown over 10 times to 100 megabits per second – and it’s burstable (which means we’ll never run of space in the pipeline!). Power outages are a thing of the past with a fully integrated dual UPS and generator system (with a week’s worth of diesel). A pre-action sprinkler system and Novec gas system will protect the servers, and redundant air conditioning ensures optimal performance. And everything is protected with 24 hour secure access and surveillance cameras.
