SchoolFinder.com launches Australian education micro site
In partnership with AustraLearn, EDge Interactive announced today that it has launched a micro site on SchoolFinder.com for students who want to learn about studying in Australia.
The demand for information on overseas educational opportunities from Canadian students continues to increase. International education fairs, personal visits from recruiters representing institutions abroad and scheduled chats with schools online are becoming a standard part of the information gathering process as students investigate post-secondary opportunities. To meet this growing demand, the SchoolFinder.com team met with AustraLearn, an organization that specializes in study abroad opportunities in Australia and New Zealand, to develop a micro site for Canadian students to learn more about institutions in this region.

"Australia is a hot-spot for Canadian students," says Rob Taylor, Senior Editor at EDge Interactive. "We want to make sure visitors to SchoolFinder.com can explore a vast array of education opportunities, both in Canada and abroad. Students are becoming more interested in the global experience. Whether it be volunteering for a non-profit organization for a year in a developing nation, or studying overseas to complete a degree, students are now, more than ever, willing to participate in cross-cultural experiences."
SchoolFinder.com/Australia is a comprehensive micro site within SchoolFinder.com where students can not only view information on Australian post-secondary institutions but also learn more about Australia. The content includes: climate and culture, economy, geography, an overview of the Australian education system, program info, differences in education, application procedures, tuition fees, financial aid and scholarships and getting a visa. Students can also search for schools by program or school keyword and can view full profiles of schools with links to their program, application and contact info pages. Some school profiles include virtual campus e-Tours™ so students can get a better sense of the school through pictures, music, audio and video.
Cynthia Banks, Executive Director of AustraLearn, comments, "This is an exciting time for students who wish to study abroad. There are so many opportunities out there for those who want to pursue an international education. The benefits go far beyond attaining a quality post-secondary education. Students receive a second education in life experiences that will have a significant effect on their course in life."
