Books4Exchange.com makes it possible for university and college students to buy and sell their used textbooks online. The site was launched in 1999 as a collaborative project between EDge Interactive and the Science Undergraduate Society of McGill University. Since then, the site has helped tens of thousands of students buy and sell used textbooks.
Completely revamped in December 2004, the site now features tools to helps students sell books faster. Students can post used books for sale at whatever asking price they choose. They can also search for books by book title, ISBN, and for some schools, their program or the course number in which the book is used. Each book posted has detailed information, including its condition and asking price. When a student finds the right book, they can simply click on the contact name and send an e-mail to the seller. Students also have the option to bold, highlight or feature their book on the site. The new "Wish List" feature makes it easier for buyers and sellers to find each other.
The relaunch of the site was done in partnership with Places4Students.com, who have quickly become the online leader in providing universities and colleges with the highest quality off-campus housing service.
